Joe Dorsey, Jr. July 12, 1932 – December 19, 2018 Joe Dorsey, Jr. was born July 12, 1932 in New Castle to Joe Dorsey, Sr. and Charity Jones, both of whom preceded him in death. Joe was physically disabled, but he never let that slow him down. He loved people.

He served as a barber in Crawfordsville, Arkansas, and also worked as a farm hand until his health started to fail. He then moved to Forrest City, where he became the neighborhood “store”, making his weekly trips to the “Wall Store” (Wal- Mart), and the “Food Store” (Food Giant), for sodas, water, candy, and vegetables. He wanted to take care of everyone, and he never met a stranger.

Joe leaves to cherish his memory: four sisters–Berthinea Sinclair of Madison, Arkansas, Emily Byear of Charlotte, North Carolina, Erma Santanze (John) of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Arline Parker (Arrie) of Atlanta, Georgia; brothers– Robert Dorsey of Decatur, Illinois and Rodell Dorsey of Atlanta, Georgia; one very special god-brother–George Brown of Crawfordsville, Arkansas; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Friends and relatives are invited to post messages and share memories. Most entries will be reviewed within 24 hours.
