Joe Edwin Baker of Davisville, Missouri passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018 in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 90 years, 8 months and 10 days. He was born January 28, 1928 in Davisville to parents, Raymond and Dora Ethel Martin Baker. In 1947 in St. Louis, he was united in marriage to Wilma Bolling and to this union two sons were born.

Joe served honorably in the U. S. Army. He and Wilma along with his brother Bill owned the Baker Feed Store in Davisville for a few years. Joe also farmed and raised cattle for many years, hauled cattle to the stockyards in St. Louis and used his knowledge of welding to fabricate different pieces of equipment.

He also built many houses in the community and always enjoyed his time building. Joe also was employed as a hoist engineer for Doe Run retiring from that position after several years. He attended the Davisville Church for over 83 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Nadine Watson and husband, Ray, Virginia Wilson and husband Elba and Naomi Halbert and husband Welbon. He will be sadly missed by his wife of seventy-one years, Wilma Baker of Davisville, MO; two sons, Roger Baker and wife Nancy of Davisville, MO and Rodney Baker and Heather, significant other, of Ballwin, MO; four grandchildren, Kathleen Donnell, Charlene Baker, Andrew Baker and Amber Baker; two great-grandchildren, Bethany and Benjamin Donnell; two brothers, Jim Baker and wife Kathy of Cuba, MO and Bill Baker of Davisville, MO; one sister, Betty Sue Gremaud and husband Pete of Pacific, MO; other relatives and many friends. The Family will receive friends from 9:00 until service time on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO with Rev. Harrison Brown and Rev. Bob Coleman officiating.

Committal prayer and interment with Full Military Honors will be in the Davisville Cemetery. The Family was served by the Britton- Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.
