Joe Golemboski (Ivy Chapel) November 23, 1923 – January 17, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Sympathy Card Joe Golemboski, 85, of Tulsa, OK passed away January 17th at Porta Caeli House in Tulsa after a short stay in hospice. Joe was born November 23rd, 1933 in Colby Kansas and was baptized December 24th of the same year at Sacred Heart Catholic church in Colby. He leaves behind his devoted loving wife of 57 years, Jacqueline; his daughter, Sandra Heck; his two sons, J.J. and Tony; and the 11 grandchildren who brought him the greatest joy.

Born and raised in Colby, Joe served in the Air Force from 1953 to 1957 where he served in the Pacific and accrued many great stories. He learned to play cards in the Air Force much to the chagrin of his brothers-in-law. When he returned home from the military he eventually began working as a roughneck and driller in the oilfields which led him to the Sapulpa, OK area and a beautiful waitress named Jacque.

Jacque and Joe were married in 1961 in Sapulpa and eventually moved to Tulsa. Joe worked for the Postal Service for 28 years retiring at the ripe old age of 57. Joe had a continued presence at the post office for all of his remaining years as a salesman for Brookfield uniforms.

He was an active member of the Postal Union and a member of the board at First Oklahoma Federal Credit Union for many years. The Rosary/Viewing will be held at Fitgerald Ivy Chapel at 1402 S Boulder in Tulsa on Sunday January 20th at 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church at 2434 E Admiral Blvd on January 21st at 10:00 AM.

He will be interred at Calvary cemetery at 9101 S Harvard in Tulsa after the funeral service.
