215 West Jackson Street P.O. Box 754 Dublin, GA 31040 www. townsendfuneralhome.com Mr. Joe W. Smith, age 97, of Dublin, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2018 in the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center. Mr. Smith was a native of Laurens County.

He was the son of the late Hardy Smith and Inez Sessions Smith. He was a retired Newspaper Printer and was a member of First Baptist Church. Mr. Smith was a US Army Veteran.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Perry Smith. Survivors include Brothers in law and Sister in law; Mickey Perry, JoNell P. Smith and Gene Scarboro, several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held for Mr. Smith at 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Northview Cemetery.
