Alice Chavis Walker, age 77, of Chester, passed away on Friday, June 29, 2018. Mrs. Walker was born in Laurens County to the late Frank and Alma Childers. She loved working with the public and spending time with her family and grandkids.

She enjoyed fishing, going to horse shows, collecting porcelain dolls, and making clothes for dolls for her granddaughters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter “Buddy” Walker; sister, Myrtle Lee Childers; brothers, Richard Childers, and Harry Childers. Survivors include her daughter, Jessica Paul (Buck), of Chester; son, Chris Chavis (Amanda), of Rockledge; sister, Avis Alligood (Carroll), of Dublin; brothers, Ottis Childers (Betty), Clarence Childers (Pam), and Arthur Childers, all of Dublin; grandchildren, Brandy Smith (Michael), of Cochran, Laura Chavis, of Dublin, and Haley Brown and Colby Chavis, both of Rockledge; great-granddaughter, Jaley Smith, of Cochran and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, July 1, 2018 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Mr. Dan Childers and Rev.

Jimmy Thigpen will officiate with a special reading by Laura Chavis. Pallbearers will be Eric Cunningham, Steven Cox, Brad Childers, Sam Hilbun, Grady Coleman, Michael Smith and William Coleman. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Serenity Hospice, 520 Hillcrest Parkway, Dublin, GA 31021.
