SIMMS Sr., Joel Emmett Ocala – Joel Emmett Simms, Sr., 77, passed away January 26, 2019. Born in Fellowship and raised in Marion County, FL, on December 3, 1941, to the late Jack and Thelma Simms. He served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam and later was self employed in Fuel and Oil Distributing.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Francis Simms. He is survived by his sons, Howell Simms (Kim), Joel Simms, Jr.; daughters, Nancy Stephens (Ray), Tiffanie Casteel (Craig), Jennifer Bevard (John); brothers, David Simms, Tommy Simms; sisters, Linda Taylor, Katie Daunhauer, Jackie Roberts, Luvinnia Jean and TammyJohnson; twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 pm, Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Countryside Funeral Home, Anthony, FL.

Graveside service with Military Honors will be 1:00 pm, Thursday, January 31, 2019 in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL, with Pastor Hal Roberts officiating.
