JOEL KERKER Joel Kerker died peacefully in Los Angeles, CA. on Sunday, July 8 at the age of 61. He is predeceased by his dear parents, Milton and Reva Kerker.

Joel is survived by his siblings, Ruth Ann (Larry Hapner), Martin (Shelly Kerker), Susan (David Langmann), his cousins, nieces, and nephews. Joel was born on August 14, 1956 in Potsdam, NY. He attended the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester and majored in composition and trumpet.

Joel worked as a piano technician and restored pianos. He played piano and trumpet in various ensembles and performed with the North Country Ragtime/Jazz Band. Joel was a congregant at Temple Beth El in Potsdam where he tutored students in Hebrew studies.

Joel will be remembered for his sweetness, kindness, love of and talent in music and his sense of humor. FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT CONGREGATION KOL AMI 1008 W. WATER STREET ELMIRA, NY ON FRIDAY, JULY 13 AT 11:00AM. RABBI OREN STEINITZ OFFICIATING.

INTERMENT TO FOLLOW IN FRANKLIN STREET CEMETERY, ELMIRA, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Temple Beth El, 81 Market Street, Potsdam, NY 13676.
