Obituary for Johann H Frenken Johann H. Frenken Johann Frenken, age 91, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at St. Joseph hospital, Mishawaka, IN after a brief illness from a fall. Johann was born in Bocket, Germany on August 11, 1927 to Hermann and Sophia Frenken, where he was the town’s blacksmith, and came to America in November 1957 with his wife Anneliese (nee: Müschen) and four children. They lived in Gary, IN for 50 years before moving to Granger, IN.

Prior to retiring Johann was a welder for NIPSCO, a trade/craft he learned as an apprentice in Germany after WWII. He leaves behind his loving wife of 68 years Anneliese, daughters, Elizabeth (Liz) McKee and Annemie (Anne) Branson; sons, John (Hans) Frenken and Ronald Frenken, and their families and his sister Maria (Slavo) Randjelovic of Indianapolis and her family. Johann and Anneliese have 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son Willi Frenken and grandson Jon Jon Frenken and sisters Anna (Karl) Peters and Agnes [Franz] Jütten. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 21st at 12pm at Calumet Park Funeral Chapel (7535 Taft Street) Merrillville, IN. Interment Calumet Park Cemetery.
