John A. Manz, age 94, of Wautoma, passed away Friday, Dec. 14, 2018 at ThedaCare Medical-Berlin. He was born August 29, 1924 to Adolph and Exilda (Belongia) Manz.

He married the love of his life, Lola Seybold on March 15, 1952 in Milwaukee where they raised their three children. John was drafted into the Army at the age of 18. He proudly served his country as a bomber on a B-29 aircraft during World War II.

He was employed as a mail carrier in the Milwaukee area for 30 years and he loved getting to know the people on his route. Upon retirement, John and Lola settled in the Wautoma area. After living in Oshkosh for 10 years, the couple eventually returned to Wautoma where they enjoyed many friendships.

Throughout his life, John devoted his time and energy to making lasting relationships and connections with people. He was able to travel to Washington D.C. and be recognized for his military service as part of the Honor Flight. He was a member and past president of Wautoma Lions Club.

John also belonged to Wolman-Minskey American Legion Post 317 of Wautoma and the Last Mans Club. He is survived by his wife of 66 years: Lola M. Manz; one son: Lawrence (Kathy) Manz; two daughters: Susan Manz and Judy Manz; grandchildren: Theresa (Tim) Manz Kutschera, Angela (Jason) Moran, Natalie Galster-Manz; great grandson: Holden Manz Kutschera; sister: Shirley Ondrejicka and a brother-in-law: Don Seybold. He is further survived by other relatives and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Lillian (Howard) Liebenstein, Evelyn (Clifford) Swanson, Cecelia (Joe) Lukitsch; two brothers, Lester (Audrey) Manz and Ken Manz; his brother-in-law, Frank Ondrejicka. Private services will be held at a later date.
