John’s Obituary Funeral services for Mr. John Andrew Brossette will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2019, in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, with Reverend David Braquet officiating. Interment will follow in Rachal Cemetery, Marco, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville. Mr. Brossette, 72, of Alexandria, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, May 19, 2019, in his residence with his loving family by his side.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in the Vietnam War and a native of Marco Community. He retired from the Alexandria Fire Department, where he was Fire Captain. His passion in life was white perch fishing, gardening and antiquing, but foremost he was the white perch worst nightmare.

He was a very generous soul who loved doing for others and giving to anyone in need. He was of the Catholic Faith and enjoyed spending time with his family and his rescued fur babies. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Maurine Brossette. Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of fifteen years, Glenda Froreich, of Alexandria; three daughters, Belinda Brossette, of Alexandria, Hope Brosssette, of Alexandria and Kimberly Wood, of Colfax; one brother, Sherwin Brossette and his wife, Paige, of Shreveport; eight grandchildren, Kayla Bordelon, Sean Brossette, Demarcus Brossette, Jennifer Brossette, Dylan Mark Van Matre, Dustin Van Matre, Raven McKenzie Wood and Michael Dylan Wood; three nephews, Brian Boney, of Ball, Russell Boney, of Deville and Major Thomas, of Alexandria and three nieces, Kim Berry, of Pineville, Wanda Miller, of Marco and Renee Rachal, of Marco. Friends may call at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, on Saturday, May 18, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Sunday, May 19, 2019, at 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
