Obituary for John Andrew Johnson John A. Johnson (1925-2018) CEDAR FALLS – John A. Johnson, 93, of Cedar Falls died Sunday, July 15, 2018 at New Aldaya Lifescapes in Cedar Falls. He was born February 15, 1925 in Ripley Township in Butler County, son of John J. and Anna (Folkerts) Johnson. He married VerJean Schrage on December 12, 1948 in Allison, Iowa.

She preceded him in death on May14, 2014. He graduated from Allison High School in 1943, served in the U.S. Army, and farmed in Butler County. Survived by: a son, Jeff (Carol) of Rosemount, MN; three daughters, Sandi (Don) Routh of Cedar Falls, Marsha (Jeff) Hanson of Holland, MI, and Wendi (David) Yeager of Arvada, CO; nine grandchildren; five step grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and ten step great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: an infant son, John Timothy Johnson; two sons-in-law, Bob Kluiter and Jim Meinders; two step grandchildren, Tressa Meinders and Tara Meinders Beltz; a great grandson, Evan Herman; and two sisters, Engelina Foster and Alice Foster. Services: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls, with burial in Bethel Reformed Cemetery, rural Aplington. Visitation will be from 9 am until service time Wednesday at the church.
