John Arkell Glinn October 02, 1949 – May 10, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Spartanburg, SC- John Arkell Glinn, Sr., 69, husband of Melody Towe Glinn, died Friday, May 10, 2019 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born October 2, 1949 in Richmond, VA, John was a son of the late Clarence J. Glinn, Jr. and Beryl A. Glinn. He attended Douglas Freeman High School in Richmond, VA and was a graduate of Clemson University, obtaining his degree in mechanical engineering.

John earned his Professional Engineer license and was President of John Glinn Sales, Inc He was a past member of Spartanburg Jaycees and the Downtown Sertoma Club. In addition to his wife, Melody, John is survived by his children, Kelly G. Crawley and John A. “Jay” Glinn, Jr.; grandchildren, Luke W. and Emma L. Henning; his sisters, Jacqueline Walker Lane (Bobby Lane) of Petersburg, VA and Nancy Glinn Powell (Christopher W. Lindbloom) of Richmond, VA; nieces and nephews; and his step mother in-law, Elizabeth T. Towe.

A memorial service will be held Friday, May 24th, 3:00PM at Westminster Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
