Obituary for John Brendan Kane John Brendan Kane, Anderson, passed away October 26, 2018 at Primrose Memory Care. He was born In Chicago, IL to Mary Laffey. John owned the Chesterfield Pharmacy for over 25 years.

During his time of ownership, he was known for his care and compassion in town often going above and beyond to meet the individual needs of his customers. It was not uncommon for him to open the pharmacy after hours when someone needed something. After retiring from the pharmacy, he continued to use his vast skills and knowledge at the Marion VA Hospital in Marion, Indiana, and various other retail pharmacies until 2014.

In addition, he was an owner in the Corner Drug Store in Noblesville, Uncle Denny’s Car Wash, in Anderson, and various other business ventures throughout his life. He had a passion for investing, golf, and Purdue University. He truly enjoyed teaching others and sharing his words of wisdom, which he did often.

He was a long-time member of the Chesterfield Christian Church, Chesterfield Optimist Club, and the Madison County Shrine Club. John is survived by his second wife, Doris, whom he married in 1987, his son John P. (Susan) Kane, grandchildren Rebekah Kane, Brendan Kane, and Ben Kane. In addition, he is survived by his brother Charles (Gaye) Laffey, sister Marlene Shaffer, several nieces and nephews, as well as Doris’ daughters Cindy Miller (Larry), Debbie Huffman, and Rita Hoskins (Mike).

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and first wife, Patricia. The family would like to thank the staff at Primrose Memory Care for the excellent care John received while he was a resident. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00, Wednesday, October 31 at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, followed by a funeral service at 11:00am, Thursday, November 1, with Reverend Ned Clark and Reverend Dick True officiating.

Entombment will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Chesterfield Christian Church, the Alzheimer’s Association, or a Shrine Club charity. www.
