Obituary for John Brunner Print John Daniel Brunner, 82 of Hope passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Salina Regional Hospital. He was born December 4, 1936 in Newton, the son of Dan and Alice (Anderson) Brunner. He grew up in the Hope area and attended the local school districts.

After graduation, John went on and served in the Marine Corp. On May 5, 1961 he was united in marriage to Margaret “Maggie” Patterson in Herington. She survives of the home.

He worked for Duck Wall Alco as a security guard for twenty years before retiring. John loved coaching little league baseball, football and basketball and was known by many as “coach”. John is survived by his loving wife Maggie of the home.

Daughter, Chris Savery and husband Jeff of Abilene and Russ Fowler of Salina. 10 grandchildren: Travis Savery, Tyler Savery, Jeremy Parks, Josh Parks, Richard Fowler, Cody Brunner, Keely Brunner, Lacy Brunner, Holly Brunner and Dillon Brunner. 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four children: Debra Fowler-Parks, Richard Fowler, Roger Brunner and Bob Brunner. Daughter-in-law, Sharon Fowler , granddaughter, Nikki Fowler. Two sisters, Helen Bishop and Carol Rutledge.

Funeral Services for John will be 10:00 am, Saturday February 23, 2019 at Carlson-Becker Funeral Home in Hope. Burial will follow at Hope City cemetery. Family will receive friends Friday evening from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home.
