Mr. John Charles Holt, age 96 of Holly Lake Ranch, TX, formerly of Ellijay, GA, passed Monday evening, September 17th, 2018 at Wood Memorial Nursing Home in Mineola, TX. Mr. Holt was born March 20th, 1922 in Ellijay, GA to his late parents John Cleveland Holt and Callie Mae Johnson Holt. He was a member of Greater Heights Baptist Church in Cumming, GA and retired from General Motors Corporation.

John is preceded in death by his wife Willie Myrtle Weaver Holt, brother Cecil Holt, sister Oleeta Holt, son, Randy Holt, daughter-in-law Cheryl Sanford Holt, daughter-in-law Jackie Kootz Holt and great granddaughter Caitlyn Holt. He is survived by his son Larry Holt of Holly Lake Ranch, TX; daughter-in-law, Barbara Holt of Gainesville, GA; grandchildren, Brian Holt of Wylie, TX, Darrell Holt of Benbrook, TX, Gary Holt of Garland, TX, Nathan Holt of Braselton, GA, Rev. Jason Holt of Santiago, Chile; seven great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Pete Bryant of Jasper, GA, Geneva Painter of Ellijay, GA, Lois Schrock of Ellijay, GA, Opal Weaver of Cumming, GA and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, September 25th, 2018 from the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA with Rev. Chris Grinstead officiating. Music and vocals will be by Janet Troutman, Julie Holt and Randy Holt.

Graveside interment will follow in the Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends from 4pm until 8pm on Monday, September 24th, 2018 at the Logan Funeral Home and from 11am until the service hour at 12 noon on Tuesday, September 25th, 2018 at the Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA. Flowers are acceptable or donations may be made to the American Kidney Foundation, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852 in memory of Mr. Holt.
