JOHN D LEIGHTY, passed away on Monday, October 1st, 2018 at his home in Medford, New Jersey. He was 75 years of age. Born in Ashland, OH, he moved to Medford as a boy and has resided in Shamong and Tabernacle before moving back to Medford in 1994.

John worked his whole career for the US Navy, starting as a machinist at the Philadelphia Naval Yard. He later moved to the Department of Defense working at the Aviation Supply office where he was responsible for quality control and procurement of aviation parts until his retirement in 2008. He had a love for golf, fishing and gardening.

He is the Beloved Father of Wendy L. Leighty of Burlington Twp. , NJ and Jessica L. Oropallo and her husband David of Maple Shade, NJ. He is also survived by his girlfriend of 20 plus years Linda Wills of Medford, NJ and his grandchildren Morgan Oropallo and Emily Oropallo.

Funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Bradley & Stow Funeral Home, Medford, NJ. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy or flowers the family would appreciate donations being made in memory of John to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3 Eves Drive, Suite 310, Marlton, NJ 08053.
