OBITUARY John Fl Crone June 25, 1963 – October 19, 2018 Dateline: New Albany, Indiana October 19, 2018 John F. Crone, 55 years of age of New Albany, died Friday October 19, 2018 at his residence following an illness. John was born, June 25, 1963 in New Albany to Margaret Schlensker Crone Carnes and the late Herbert Crone. He was the service manager for 18 years at Raben Tires in Clarksville and a graduate of Our Lady of Providence High School, Indiana University Southeast and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Albany.

John loved horse racing, hanging at the pool, and trips to the gambling boat for the free room and socializing. John loved being around his family and friends and his white ford mustang. He was the longtime producer of the infamous Johnson Open golf tournament, which after several years of hiatus was resurrected in 2017.

He was loved by many and he loved many, especially his son Jack, who always made him a very proud Dad. His family wishes to thank all those who loved John, spent time with him, and comforted him with prayers and love this last year. Survivors include his son, Jack Crone; mother, Margaret A. Crone Carnes; siblings, Cathy Fields (Steve), Steve Crone (Betty), Teresa Fountain (Mick), Sue Glordan, and Chris Crone (Shane); Jack’s mother, Melissa Mueller (Jim).

He also leaves many nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until 6:00 pm Sunday, October 21st at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring St. in New Albany. His funeral mass will be held 11:00 am Monday, October 22nd at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of New Albany with private burial in Holy Trinity Cemetery at a later date.
