OBITUARY John Francis Bohr December 4, 1929 – July 13, 2018 Play Tribute Movie John Francis Bohr, 88 of Henrico passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018. He was a member of Fort Lee Baptist Church and was a retired maintenance worker for the Masonic Home of Virginia. Serving with the U. S. Army National Guard during the Korean and Vietnam Wars, he retired as a Master Sergeant and Expert Marksman, receiving the Bronze Star.
He was a member of the Eastern Richmond Beekeepers Association, Virginia Train Collectors and the Varina Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Charlotte A. Bohr and grandson, Casey R. Bohr and is survived by his wife, Doris S. Bohr; children, John F. Bohr, Jr. and wife, Bobbie, and Darlene B. Sumrell and husband, Larry; grandchildren, Brandon N. Bohr and wife, Hope and Nathan K. Verlander; great-grandchildren, Gracie Verlander, Brock Bohr, Griffin Bohr and Bodie Bohr; and siblings, Norma B. Radvany and husband, Steve, Mavis Perdue and husband, Carl and Glenn L. Bohr and wife, Margaret. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 18, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave.
Richmond, VA 23231. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 19, at 1 p.m. at Fort Lee Baptist Church, 2727 Charles City Road, Richmond, VA 23231. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Fort Lee Baptist Church, Bereavement Fund.
