Obituary for John G. Hovey John Gilbert Hovey, 59, of Red Wing, died Monday, December 3, 2018, in Red Wing. He was born on August 13, 1959, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Richard and Elna (Gilbertson) Hovey. Since 1987 he has lived in Red Wing where he worked in the IT department at Treasure Island Resort and Casino until retiring due to a disability.

He enjoyed his drones, computers, tinkering with things and was also a ham radio operator. He is survived by his four children, Kate (Jason) Van Campen, Nick (Tiffany) Hovey, Kim (Justin) Olander and Jennifer Larson; 12 grandchildren, Cameron, Eva, J.P., Naomi, Gage, Ryder, Riley, Isabell, Gilbert, Gabrielle, Bennett and Henry; one brother; a cousin who was like a sister, Kathy (Jim) Parker along with other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents.
