John Hardy Mire, Sr. John Hardy Mire, Sr., SSgt, USAF (Ret) was born the only child of George and Libby Grayson Mire on December 3, 1933 in Jeanerette, LA. He passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at his residence in Brazoria, TX. He enjoyed building model airplanes, trains, collecting watches and playing his guitar.

He had a passion for reading and caring for animals. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Catherine (Cathy/Katie) Mire (nee Price); Children and spouses, Stuart J. Mire of Wells, ME; Brian C. Mire of Wells, ME, Jonelle C. and Christopher Ozmun of Smithville, TX, Michele E. TSgt USAF (Ret) and Thomas Clark III of Roswell, NW, and John Hardy II and Barbara Mire of Baytown, TX and ex-daughter-in-law, Cynthia Mire of Houston; 13 Grandchildren, Jimmie, Danielle, Justin, Roger, Samantha, Kaitlin, Catherine, Brenden, Hailee, John III, Amy, Kosh and Abigail; Great grandchildren, Kailee, Alexander, Payton, Claire and Charlotte. He is also survived by many sisters-in-law and brother-in-law and nieces and nephews.

Private memorial services will be held at the Houston National Cemetery with military honors. In his memory, please make donations to the Wounded Warrior Project, 2200 Space Park Drive, Suite 100, Houston, TX 77058. Final arrangements entrusted to Dixon Funeral Home of Brazoria at (979) 798-9113.
