John Henry Bennett, Sr. of Madison, WV went home to be with his Lord on March 22, 2019 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was a son of the late Robert and Mary Bennett. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth, Raymond and Luther Bennett; and two sisters, Ida Anderson and Ethel Gillispie.

John attended church at Freedie F.W. B. Church at Van, WV. He is survived by his wife Rosetta of 53 years; sons, John (Cheryl) Bennett Jr. of Alabama, and Ray (Kelly) Bennett of Madison; daughter, Lisa (James) Elswick of Virginia; seven grandchildren, Amanda Brannen and Tiffany Reynolds, Gage Miller, Lilly Bennett, Nolan Elswick, Griffin Bennett and Aidan Elswick; three great-grandchildren, Easton, Greylen and Landon Brannen; three brothers, Bobby, Ray, and Jerry; four sisters, Martina Walls, Judy Kincaide, Hazel Kuhn and Christina Straka; and a host of family and friends. Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, March 24 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville.
