John J. “Jay” Yuskaitis, 76, a lifelong resident of Brockton, passed away peacefully on Jan. 17, 2019. Son of the late Anthony and Helen (Dombrosky) Yuskaitis, he was a graduate of Brockton High School Class of 1961 and was retired as a Fire Inspector after a long career as a Firefighter in the City of Brockton.

Jay was an antique automobile enthusiast that enjoyed playing guitar and gardening in his spare time. He also was an avid outdoorsman and a member of Holbrook, Plympton and East Bridgewater Sportsmen’s Clubs. Jay was a friend to many and he led a life of compassion and always showed a willingness to help others.

He was the beloved husband of Kathleen T. (McGrath) Yuskaitis for almost 55 years; loving father of Susan Anderson (and Jeffrey) of Plymouth , Laura Dolan (and Michael) of Plymouth, John J. Yuskaitis Jr. (and Catherine Ricciardi-Yuskaitis) of Stoughton and Tracy Craffey (and Michael) of Easton; grandfather of 5 Derrick, Jeffrey, Toni-Elizabeth, Michael and Cole; great-grandfather of 2, Justin and Dylan, with a third on the way; brother of Paul A. “Chick” Yuskaitis (and Aini Johnson) of Hooksett, NH; and an uncle and cousin of many.
