John’s Obituary John “Jack” Beauvais, 92 Retired Fitchburg Firefighter Fitchburg-John “Jack” Beauvais, 92, passed away on December 20, 2018 following a stroke. Jack was born in Fitchburg on October 1, 1926 and lived in Fitchburg his entire life. He was pre-deceased by his wife of 68 years, Dorothea (Finneron) Beauvais and his siblings Victor, Ralph, Phillip, Margaret, and Richard.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Tracey and Gary Shack of Lancaster, MA; his son and daughter-in-law, John and Sandra Beauvais of Lagrangeville, NY; and two granddaughters, Nicole Beauvais of Charlotte, NC and Courtney Beauvais of New York, NY. Jack was the son of Victor and Mary (Ware) Beauvais. He was married on July 23, 1949 in St. Bernard’s Church.

He joined the Navy in 1943 serving in the South Pacific during WWII. Following a season with the circus as a performer on the high-bar, he graduated from Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology leading to a lifetime as a skilled carpenter. Jack retired from the Fitchburg Fire Department in 1982.

He will be remembered by family and friends as a human dynamo and a one-man amusement park. At Jack’s request, his remains have been donated to medical research and there will be no funeral or services. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Lunenburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, 763 Massachusetts Ave.
