John was born November 11, 1968 in Des Plaines, IL. He passed away September 28, 2018. John graduated from Crystal Lake Central High School and Southern Illinois University.

He had a passion for golf and enjoyed fly fishing, hunting (with his beloved dog Max), and was a Cubs fan. John enjoyed coaching his children’s youth sports teams. John is survived by his children, Michael and Gabriella “Ella” Olas, and their mother Anna Olas; father, Richard “Dick” Olas; siblings, Kelly (Tom) Holcombe, Gregory (Heather) Olas, and Christopher Olas; nieces and nephews, Lindsay and Dana Holcombe, and Sophie and Miles Olas.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia; paternal grandparents, Alfred and Jane Olas; and maternal grandparents, Steve and Ruth Yadloski. Visitation will be 3pm until 8pm with a prayer service at 7pm, Tuesday, October 2 at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave (Route 176), Crystal Lake. Interment is private.
