John was born June 26, 1946 to the late Bernard and Margaret (Baker) McMullen. He graduated from Lakeville High School with the class of 1964.

John married Linda McNiel on August 16, 1969 in Mayville. He served his country in the United States Army National Guard. John was a member of Fostoria Baptist Church for many years where he ran the sound system.

He worked for General Motors for 31 years retiring in 1996. John enjoyed football, fishing, music, yard work, sitting on the porch swing and especially spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda McMullen; three children, Holli (Mark) Ward, Tamera (John “JD”) Zmierski and Brandon (Gayle) McMullen; seven grandchildren, Jared Ward, Chastity (Joshua) Smith, Mikala McMullen, MacKenzie McMullen, Ashley Ward, Evan Zmierski and Marlee McMullen; brother, Jim McMullen; and sister, Deb (Dave) Shrader.

John was preceded in death by his sisters, Theresa McMullen and Patricia McMullen. The Family will receive visitors from 4-8 PM Friday, May 3, 2019 at Avram Funeral Home and from 2 PM until the time of service Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Fostoria Baptist Church. A Funeral Service will be held at 4 PM Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Fostoria Baptist Church with Pastor Steven Henry officiating.

Burial will follow in Watertown Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Family Discretionary Fund. Friends may share an online condolence at www.
