OBITUARY John Martin McDonnell March 1, 1948 – September 9, 2018 John M. McDonnell, age 70, of Michigan City, IN, formerly of Chicago, IL, passed away September 9, 2018 at his residence. John was born March 1, j1948 in Tipperary, Ireland to the late Michael and Ellen McDonnell. John is the loving brother to Anne (Vincent) Livak, Josephine (Robert) Meyer, and Martin McDonnell; beloved uncle and great uncle to many; and friend to several.

John honorably served during the Vietnam Conflict as a Marine. During Vietnam he was awarded the Silver Star Medal for Bravery and two Purple Hearts. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.

Visitation will be on Friday, September 14, 2018 at Andrew J. McGann & Son Funeral Home (10727 S. Pulaski Road; Chicago, Illinois 60655) from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Private family burial will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois at a later date.
