Brown-Mack Funeral Home John Mervin Gill, 91, of Terre Haute, died Sunday, October 21, 2018 at 7:51 am. He was born January 13, 1927, in Montezuma, IN to Otto Herman Gill and Winnie Huffman Gill. He worked for the B & O Railroad and in construction.

He was in the US Army during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post #48 in Rockville and a member of the VFW #1752 also in Rockville. He was a 33 degree Mason and belonged to the Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute and the Association of Railroad Workers.

He also was an avid bowler. He also was a member of the Belton First Baptist Church in Belton, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Steven Manley Gill; 4 brothers, Raymond W. Gill, Vern Gill, Charles Gill, and James Gill; 2 sisters, Patricia Randolph and Anita Busenbark.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou Siegelin Gill, whom he married on December 31, 1950. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Steven Charles Gill (fiancé Tess Khoury) and Jesse Wayne Gill ; great-grandchildren, Quintin Gill, Morgan MaGill, and Rory MaGill; and several nieces and nephews. Private visitation and services will be held.

Masonic Memorial services will be performed and Military Honors will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Rockville Masonic Lodge, Hospice of Wabash Valley, or the charity of one’s choice. Brown-Mack Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
