OBITUARY John Michael “Mike” Anderson March 1, 1955 – September 9, 2018 John Michael Anderson was born March 1, 1955 in Columbia, Mississippi. He passed from this earthly life on September 9, 2018. Mike was a graduate of Poplarville High School and Mississippi State University.

He worked for the MSU Experiment Station in Poplarville for 35 years. He was also a minister at the Poplarville Church of Christ. Mike loved working in his yard, carving canes, painting gourds, volunteering for the Braille ministry, and studying God’s word.

life long dream was realized when Mike was able to go on a mission trip to Tanzania. He was humbled to be able to spread the word of God to those in need. Another dream was realized when this summer Mike was able to tour many of the National Parks in the western part of the United States.

He was in awe of God’s handiwork. Those left to cherish his love and memories are his wife of 39 years, Lynn of Poplarville; son Joseph and wife Rosemary of Poplarville, son Tyler and wife Lindsey of Mobile, AL, and granddaughter Marceline Anderson of Poplarville. He will also be greatly missed by his mother Anna Mary Anderson of Poplarville, brother David and wife Peggy of Midland, TX, brother Tim and wife Susan of Poplarville, five nephews, two nieces, two great nieces, and his mother-in-law Grace Ginn, along with his church family and numerous friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Glen Anderson of Poplarville, and his grandparents John L. and Ruth Starkey, Sr. and Henry Columbus and Ada Anderson. The family is comforted by the assurance that we will see Mike again. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Anderson, Jonathan Anderson, Aaron Anderson, Bryce Amacker, Grayson Amacker, Bradley Anderson, Dru Anderson, and Chris DeLeon.

Funeral services will be held at White Funeral Home, 315 Highway 11 South, Poplarville, MS, 39470 on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends and have visitation from noon until services, Thursday afternoon at the funeral home.
