OBITUARY Mendie G. Stewart February 1, 1922 – November 15, 2018 Mendie G. Stewart, 96, of Poplarville (Spring Hill Community), Mississippi, passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at her residence, surrounded by family. Mrs. Stewart was born February 1, 1922 in Pearl River County, Mississippi to Henry Melvin Gipson and Fannie Sones Gipson. She was a homemaker and retired from Boone’s Pharmacy.

She was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Claude Stewart, Jr.; two brothers, R.G. Gipson, Alvin Gipson; three sisters, Zona Stewart, Maidee Hudson, Stella Faulk; one daughter-in-law, Dorothy Stewart. Family members include two sons, Robert Stewart and his wife, Deborah, Don Stewart; one brother, Alton Gipson and his wife Jean; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Services will be held at White Funeral Home, 315 Hwy 11 S, Poplarville on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 6:00 pm. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery on Sunday at 9:00 am. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until services, Saturday at the funeral home.
