John O. Powell 67, of Lebanon, CT passed away on Saturday February 2, 2019. He was born on October 6, 1951, the son of Edson and Marceline Powell. Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years Linda (Aubin) and his grandsons Bryan A. Powell, Nathan A. Powell, and Daniel C. Burnham.

His loving sister Elaine Clauson and many nieces and nephews. John was a very active man, he graduated from Windham High school and Thames Valley. He served his country in the Army from 1972 until 1975.

He was proudly active in the American Legion, and was a past Commander at Post 19, and he also we in AMVETS. When he moved to Lebanon he became active in the Lebanon community. John worked at Connecticut Yankee for many years and retired from Dominion in 2014.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 5, 2019 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with a funeral service starting at 11:30 with Fr. Ron Kolanowski officiating and a presentation from the American Legion at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic, CT. There will be a reception at American Legion Post 19 following the service.
