Obituary for John P. O’Keefe John P. O’Keefe, 94 of Eltingville, passed away on Monday, November 5, 2018, at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born Thursday, January 17, 1924 in New York, New York, he was the son of the late John O’Keefe and the late Helen Griffin O’Keefe. John’s family moved at a young age to the Bronx.

A WWII veteran John served in the US Army from 1943 until 1945 in General Patton’s Third Army. After the War he met and married his wife, the former Lorraine Goodwin. John was a plumber by trade he spent a long career with Johnson Control Company doing pneumatic control for A/C and skyscrapers.

He retired in 1988. In his free time John loved to golf, and did so up into his late 80’s. John cherished his time building model boats, enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and above all spending time with family and friends, Beloved husband of the late Lorraine O’Keefe who passed away in 1990.

Loving father of John O’Keefe, Robert O’Keefe, Timothy O’Keefe and the late William O’Keefe, a Fire Captain, killed in 9/11. Dear father in law of Sherry O’Keefe. Cherished grandfather of Jeanette, Tara, Kaitlyn, Courtney, John, Thomas, Shannon, Chelsea, and Michael.

Doting great grandfather of Quinn, Liam, Sophie, Jack and Katherine. A Mass of Christian Rite will be held at 9:45 AM on Friday at St Clare Church located at 110 Nelson Ave Staten Island, New York 10308. Interment will be in Rosehill Crematory, Linden, NJ.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Thursday, November 8, 2018, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc.. , 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
