John Pierre Jr. November 08, 1943 – May 16, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Upload Photo| Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card John Pierre Jr. ‘s Life Journey John was born November 8, 1943 is New Orleans, La. to the late John Pierre, Sr. and Naomi Keys Pierre. He was the Fifth child of 7 siblings.

John entered eternal life on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Lakeview Hospital. John’s life journey includes many areas: Education: Elementary Ed. At Holy Family school and later attended one year at Rosewood School.

He played drums in the band. However he returned to Holy Family School where he graduated. John was an altar boy for over ten years at Holy Family Church and St. Peters Catholic Church.

Occupation: He worked at several jobs until he was hired at the City of Covington as a meter reader. He worked for the St. Tammany School Board until he retired. John was a good plumber.

He was the neighborhood handy man. During his life: John was known as “baby Shaes”. Also, he called himself Chief of Chiricahuas.

He was like a god father to all of his close friends. He traveled with them in and around the area. They visited him at home to watch ball games and shared libations.

John was a lifelong resident of Covington, La. John liked to read and watch sports on T.V. He could give the stats on sports teams and individual athletes.

John also coached little league baseball. John loved his family. After his dad passed away, he stepped up to help his mother and sisters.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John Pierre Sr., and Naomi Keys Pierre; three sisters, Elma, Jaqueline, and Barbara; one brother, Jules (Pete). Left to cherish his memory are two sisters, Fayette Dennis and Elaine Tyson, his good friend, Lionel Forbes and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton are in charge of the arrangements.
