WASHINGTON – John S. Moore, 76, of Washington, passed away at 2:53pm Thursday, January 17, 2019 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. John was born on January 31, 1942 in Chicago. He married Gloria L. Flexer December 28, 1959 in Preston, ID.

Surviving is his wife, Gloria of Washington; children, John (Bunny) Moore of LaGrange, KY, David Moore of Washington, Keith (Carey) Moore of Metamora, and Karen (Tod) Maddox of Lafayette, IN; eight grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. John served in the US Air Force for 4 years and went on to work at Caterpillar, retiring after 37 years of service as a respected foreman. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Vietnam Veterans of Illinois.

A funeral service for John will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Visitation will be from 5-7:00pm Monday, January 21, 2019 at the funeral home. Masonic Rites and Military Honors will be rendered.

Interment will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
