OBITUARY John Thomas Land July 20, 1945 – October 1, 2018 John Thomas “Tom” Land, age 73 of Wimberley, Texas passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018 at his residence in Wimberley. Tom, as he was called by loved ones, was born on July 20, 1945 in Springfield, Missouri, a son of William Land and Lois Ida Louviere. Tom graduated from Jesuit High school in 1963.

As a building contractor, he began his career as a journeyman pipefitter with Dallas Local 100 union, riding through the ranks until his retirement in 2013 as COO of Total Facility Systems, based in Plano, Texas. Musician, historian, animal lover, and proud Texan, he survived by his beloved wife Penny, sons Stephen and Robert, and their mother Janine, brother Gerald, grandchildren Jacob, Macy, Thomas, and Adrien, daughters-in-law Stephanie and Dixie, and step daughter Michelle Kolchins, her husband Randy, and their children Riley and Joey. A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Calvary Hill Funeral Home, located at 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, TX 75220.

The funeral service for Tom will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 2:00 PM also at Calvary Hill Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery. Following the committal service, a reception will be held at Calvary Hill Funeral Home reception area.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Wounded Warriors Project. Calvary Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery in Dallas, Texas has charge of arrangements.
