John’s Obituary John Troy Beatty, age 49, of Tuscaloosa, passed away on January 21, 2019. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.

He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Dodson Beatty; mother, Nell Crowell Beatty; maternal grandfather, Troy Crowell, Sr.; maternal grandmother, Myrtle Crowell; paternal grandfather, John Samuel Beatty; and paternal grandmother, Juanita Kemp Beatty. Survivors include his daughter, Lauren Ashley Beatty; son, John Landon Beatty; sister, Libby Beatty Phillips (Terry); brother, Larry Gene Englebert (Kirsty); nieces, Allison Englebert Powell, Emma Elizabeth Phillips, and Helen Grace Phillips; nephews, Larry Daniel Englebert, Matthew Samuel Phillips, and Brandon Scott Englebert; mother of his children, Jennifer Pittman Beatty; and his dog, Jake. John attended elementary school at Holy Spirit Catholic Church and was a graduate of Central High School of Tuscaloosa.

John was a loving father and dedicated uncle. He enjoyed hunting, going to the beach with his family, and attending all of his children’s soccer games, award ceremonies, and events. He also enjoyed spending time with his dog, Jake, who was like a son to him.

One of John’s favorite past times was cooking and discovering new restaurants. Everyone around him knew his big heart, his love for others, and his ability to make people laugh. He was loved and will be greatly missed.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Englebert, Larry Englebert, Matthew Phillips, Terry Phillips, Chris Hutt, and Guy Griffies.
