Obituary for John W. Bell John W. “Jack” Bell. Port Sanilac/Royal Oak Age 87, passed away peacefully on May 25. Jack was born in Detroit on September 15, 1930 and was predeceased by his parents, John “Doc” and Elenore Bell.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Judy, and his children: Jackie (Mike) Moore; Mary Ellen (Randy Smith); Tom; Cindi (Jane Church); John; and Julie (Les) Harris. Dear brother of Shirley and the late Bruce Brown, and brother-in-law to Joyce and the late Rick Varlese. Jack is also survived by eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and multiple friends.

Jack served in the U.S. Navy on the submarine USS Sarda and was employed at Rockwell International for thirty years. He was an active member of St. Mary Parish in Royal Oak, the Knights of Columbus, and the Elks. Jack loved being on the water sailing and fishing, trips to the UP, and golf.

Visitation at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W. 11 Mile Road (4 blocks E of Woodward) in Royal Oak on Thursday, May 31 from 3-8 PM. The family will receive friends at St. Mary Catholic Church, 730 S. Lafayette, Royal Oak on Friday, June 1 at 11:30 A.M. followed by a celebration mass at noon.
