John’s Obituary John W. Wagner, 79, of Gilford formerly of Merrimack passed away on Tuesday March 12th after a long illness surrounded by his loving family. He was born, raised and educated in Glens Falls, NY and later served his country with the United States Navy. He retired from the FAA after 35 years where he was a system Engineer at the Nashua Center.

After moving to Merrimack in 1969, he was involved with Merrimack School PTA and was a past president, member of the Federal Managers Association, coached and umpired softball as well as being on the board of MYA. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge # 121F of Queensbury, New York. In his free time John enjoyed golf, skiing, boating, lake life, time in Florida on the jetty, was a huge fan of John Wayne and the New England Patriots, but most of all he loved his family.

John was predeceased by his wife Jane Bemis Wagner who passed in 2010 and will be missed and never forgotten by his children John “Jack” Wagner Jr and his wife Jeannie of Merrimack, Kelley Wagner and her husband Bobby Bitton of Mooresville NC, Jeffrey S. Wagner of Gilford, Lisa LaBombard and her husband Chuck of S. Burlington VT, Heather Wagner and her fiancé Jeff Guimond of Bow; grandchildren Sarah, Samantha, Danielle, Rachel, Carter and step grandsons Jon and Matt. John also leaves behind his cherished companion MJ Reardon of Glens Falls NY and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, John was also predeceased by his sister Louise Wagner of New York.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Sunday March 17th from 2 – 5 PM at the Rivet Funeral Home 425 Daniel Webster Highway in Merrimack. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Monday March 18th at St James Church, 646 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack with burial to follow at Last Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in John’s honor may be made to the Animal Rescue League of NH 545 NH-101, Bedford NH 03110 or the Merrimack Youth Association, 487 Daniel Webster Highway Merrimack NH 03054.
