John William Bostick Obituary Photo

John “William” Bostick died on Easter Sunday morning. He was enjoying his morning coffee and looking out over our beautiful property. This home was his dream and work of thirty nine years.

In the famous words of Gerald O’Hara, “that land is the only thing in the world worth working for, because it’s the only thing that lasts. There’s no getting away from it, this love of the land if you’re a Bostick”. Beloved husband of Jeanette, father of Bill, beloved ‘Papa’ of Emma, Billy, Eric, and Jamie, beloved brother of Tom, Susan, Denise, Rickie, and Carol, beloved uncle of Christopher Brown.

Bill was a gifted, fine carpenter, penmaker, Montessori-material-creator, drummer, farmer, reader, faithful friend, especially to Jimmy Lesnau, Wayne Bomber, and Louis Corell. Together, Bill and Jeanette turned their home into Country Meadows Montessori stage one. “Mr. Bill,” as the children called him, built tables and shelves and many Montessori materials in his workshop, even built a playground train, which the children loved to play on.

Mr. Bill would take the kids on a tour of the woods, instruct them on the names of the trees, or give the children a ride in the wagon behind the tractor. We will celebrate Bill’s life and loves at ‘Papa’s house,’ as Emma always said. We don’t have to go too far to remember him – just look into the eyes of his son, granddaughter, and grandsons.

He will remain in all our memories until we see him again – for love is eternal. “That though the radiance which as once so bright, be now forever taken from my sight. Though nothing can bring back the hour of splendor in the grass, glory in the flower.

We will grieve not, rather find strength in what remains behind”. – William Wordsworth To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of John “William” Bostick please visit our Sympathy Store.
