John “JR” Muncher, 58, of Benton passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Baptist Health Paducah. John was a retired Port Engineer from Ingram Barge Company. He was a Member of Calvert City United Methodist Church and a U.S. Navy Veteran.

He loved the Lord and spending time outdoors. Surviving are two sons, Jonathon Wayne (Muriel) Muncher of Greenville, MS and Jason Glen (Amanda) Muncher of Kuttawa; one stepson, Christopher (Ashley) Kimes of Starkville, MS; his father, John Muncher Sr of Greenville, MS; one brother, Garon Glenn (Lori) Muncher of Greenville, MS; one sister, Sheron (David) Burford of Greenville, MS; one sister-in-law, Vicki Muncher of Cottondale, AL; and four grandchildren, Savannah, John Warner, Jackson, and Peyton. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Muncher; and one brother, Richard Wayne Muncher.

Memorial service will be at 1:00pm on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at the Calvert City United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gregory Waldrop officiating. Friends may visit the family from 12:00pm to service hour on Sunday at the church.
