Obituary for Mr. John William Schlanz John William Schlanz born April 14, 1958, went home to be with his Savior on July 11, 2018. He was raised in Shadyside, Ohio and was a 1976 graduate of Shadyside High School. He attended West Virginia University and graduated in 1981.

Upon graduation he worked for NC State University Minerals Research Lab in Asheville, NC until his death. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Schlanz. His mother, Marilyn Schlanz still resides in Shadyside.

He leaves behind his wife of 37 years, Barbara (Foster) Schlanz of Arden, NC, his daughter Amanda of Arden and his son, Daniel who now serves in the United States Air Force stationed in Minot, ND. He also leaves his brother Robert (Karen) of Cincinnati, Ohio and brother Michael (Lisa) of Shadyside and too many to name nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. A celebration of his life will be held at a later time for his immediate family.
