JOHN “JACK” CURTIS DOTY March 13, 1926 ~ April 12, 2018 Longtime East Vancouver, WA resident Jack Doty died quietly April 12, 2018 at the age of 92. Jack was recently preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Jean Laws Doty. Jack and Jean were owners of Viewcrest Nurseries, a wholesale tree seedling nursery started in 1957.

Active members of Cascades Presbyterian Church and choir, they were known for their hard work and their can-do attitude. Jack was especially known to fix anything and everything, an original McGyver, and for his persistent pursuit to maintain health despite debilitating arthritis. Some of his favorite joys in life were working the land, piloting aircraft, telling jokes and being the life of the party.

Jack is survived by his 3 daughters, Marilyn Carnahan, Janet Van Fleet and Barbara Doty; and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren in the Elerding, Watson, VanFleet, Carnahan, Doty and Eshleman families. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, April 29th 4 p.m. at Cascades Presbyterian Church: 9503 N.E. 86th, Vancouver. Donations gratefully accepted for Cascades Presbyterian Church building fund.
