Obituary of John Deckard John Luther Deckard, age 81, of Macks Creek, Missouri passed away Thursday, September 13, 2018 at his home in Macks Creek. John was born April 11, 1937 in Orick, Missouri. He was the son of Luther Manuel Deckard and Mary Mae (Ellerman) Deckard.

On February 3, 1961 in Springfield, Missouri, John was united in marriage to Patricia Smith. Together they shared over 57 loving years as husband and wife. John had a long spanning career with Southwest Bell Telephone Company where he worked as a splicer.

When he wasn’t working, John enjoyed fishing, deer hunting with the boys, riding horses and gardening. Above all, his greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren. John is survived by his wife, Patricia, of the home; his daughters Pamela (Cookie) Stauch and husband, Billy, of Macks Creek, Missouri and Missie Janke and husband, John, of Macks Creek, Missouri; his daughter-in-law Linda Sue Deckard of Macks Creek, Missouri; two grandchildren John Cyle Deckard and Tyler Stauch; and two great-grandchildren Gracelyn Mae Deckard and Trista Lynn Stauch.

Also surviving are his bothers Mike Deckard and wife, Phyllis of Rogersville, Missouri and Shelby Deckard and wife, Debbie, of Springfield, Missouri; his sister Rosemary Kincaid of Strafford, Missouri; along with several other relatives and many friends. John was preceded in death by his father Luther Deckard; his mother Mary Mae Deckard; his step-mother Maizie Deckard; his son John Bradford Deckard; and his granddaughter Kortnie Summer Deckard. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm, Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Macks Creek, Missouri.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, September 16, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Macks Creek, Missouri.
