Johnnie Juanita West, age 78, departed this life on Thursday, December 13th, 2018 in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born November 9, 1940 in Konawa, Oklahoma to the late Rev. Bryant Jesse and Susie ( Factor) Jesse.

She was a graduate of Capitol Hill High School , Oklahoma City with the class of 1959. She worked for Hall Mark Cards as a Machine Operator in Leavenworth , KS. On January 21,1961 she married Pare Lee West Sr. in Kansas City, Mo.

, he preceded her in death in 1999. Johnnie was… Read More » a member of Bird Creek Baptist Church in Sasakwa. She served as Women’s Head Leader and Church treasurer for many years.

She also served on the Seminole Nation Housing Board of Commissioners from 2005 until 2011. She did contract work for the Crusaders for a number of years. Johnnie enjoyed getting her nails done.

Her hobbies were watching the Kansas City and OSU Football games. She enjoyed going to Powwow and Wal-mart, but most of all she enjoyed the company and time spent with her grandchildren, family and friends. Preceding Johnnie in death are her parents, husband, and one brother Jesse Clarence (JC) Kernell.

Those left to cherish her memories are daughter, Tiffany Lee West of Wewoka, and son Pare Lee West Jr. and wife Charlotte of Sasakwa, OK: seven grandchildren; three aunts Marie Jesse of Tecumseh, Sally Frazier of Konawa, and Bernice Campbell of Tecumseh, OK; one uncle Larry Jesse of Shawnee , OK and a host of other relatives and friends. Pall Bearers will be Dale Jesse, Cate Jesse, Jeffery Thomas, George Franks, Skip Foster, and Robert Lincoln. Honorary pall bearers will be Thomas Harjo Jr.,, Richard Palmer, and Stanley Plentybears Sr. The body will be taken to Bird Creek Baptist Church at 4:00 PM Monday for a 7:00 PM Wake service.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Bird Creek Baptist Church, with Rev. Norman Daniels, and Rev. Bill Hobia, and Rev.

Kenneth Cooper officiating. The burial will be at Bird Creek Cemetery.
