Johnny Lee, Sr. was born September 30, 1949 to Clara (Strother) and Robert Lee in Uniontown, Alabama. He departed this life on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 4:51 pm at Parkview Memorial Hospital. Johnny accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age at Living Hope Baptist Church in Uniontown, Alabama.

He relocated to Fort Wayne, Indiana. He met and married the love of his life Virginia Powers on January 19, 1973. They were married for 45 years.

Unto this union four children were born Dorothy, Johnny Jr, Nicole and Nina. He retired from General Electric in 2006. To many he was know as “Big Jake”, he enjoyed being with his family members and friends.

He also enjoyed entertaining, traveling, playing cards, going to the casino and eating; however, his grandchildren were his pride and joy. Johnny leaves to cherish his loving memories; a devoted wife, Virginia “Pookie” Lee; sons, Johnny Lee, Jr. and Robert Kizer; daughters, Dorothy Lee, Nicole (Montrail) Moore, Nina (Brian) Dockery all of Fort Wayne and Melissa (Emmanuel) Gibbs-Land of Buffalo, NY; brothers, Willie (Emma) Lee, Sr. and Tommie Lee; sisters, Mary Russell, Charlotte (Johnnie) Gray, Catherine Upshaw, Martha (Louis) Joe and Emma (Archie) Williams all of Fort Wayne; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Clara Lee; brothers, James Lee, Louis Lee, Joe Lee, Jimmie Lee, Henry Lee and Will Lee; sisters, Willie Mae Lee-Morrows and Elizabeth Leshore.
