Mr. Johnny Clayton McSwain March 19, 1936 – January 07, 2019 Share this obituary Local Florists Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card SERVICES: Wednesday, January 9, 2019 Calvery Baptist Church 11:00 a.m. INTERMENT: McSwain Family Cemetery VISITATION: Tuesday, January 8, 2019 Jones and Son Funeral Home 5:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2019 for Mr. Johnny Clayton McSwain, age 82, of Richton, at Calvery Baptist Church in New Augusta. Mr. McSwain passed form this life January 7, 2019 at Forrest General Hospital. Bro.

Ronald Alexander and Bro. Larry Lott will officiate with burial to follow in the McSwain Family Cemetery in New Augusta. Pallbearers will be Chris Melton, Justin Martin, Casey Shows, Allen Shows, Colton Lott and Caleb Lott.

Mr. McSwain retired from the U.S. Civil Service after 25 years and also retired from the Mississippi National Guard after 25 years. He worked as Road Foreman at Camp Shelby for over 25 years. He was a member of Calvery Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Irene McSwain; grandchildren, Devin McSwain, Hunter McSwain and Kimberly Martin. He is survived by his wife, Ann McSwain of Richton; children, Johnny McSwain, Jr. of New Augusta, Emma Herrington of New Augusta, Billie Melton of Collierville, TN; grandchildren, Amanda Cooley, Allen Shows, Casey Shows, Candice McSwain, Theresa Davis, Chris Melton, Kristi Martin and Justin Martin; and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held 5:30 – 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Jones and Son Funeral Home in Richton and one hour prior to service at the church.
