On Friday, December 14, 2018, Johnnie Mike Boulware passed away at the age of 78. Johnnie Mike was born on August 30, 1940, in Dumas, TX to John and Verna (Wynn) Boulware. Johnnie Mike was a loving brother to Maritha Reynolds Gober and Tommy Boulware.
He was also raised closely with his cousins Phil, Mary Nell, and Fannie Lou (Boulware) and Sue Anne (Hicks). Johnnie Mike attended High school in Dumas, Texas and graduated in 1958. Johnnie Mike remained extremely close with all his friends he graduated with.
Soon after graduation, Johnnie Mike joined the US Navy. He served our country for a total of 6 years. In 1968 John began working for Allied Aviation Services.
He was an aviation fueler for 35 years at DFW airport until his retirement in 2003. John made so many friends and connected with so many people during his 35 years working at Allied. He will be missed by so many.
On September 27, 1969, he married Jocelyn Susan Dacre. They raised six children together Edward Hotaling , Dorothy (Tommy)Dancey, Susan (Rob)Reberg, Rosalyn Boulware, Tommy (Heather) Boulware, and Mary Lou (Patrick)Thellman. Johnnie Pop will be missed by his seventeen grandchildren.
Christopher and William Warfield, John and Siobhan Kelly, Jabez Boulware, Elizabeth Steely and Jake, and Gracen Boulware, Nathan, Jared, Alyssa, Matthew Thellman and Natalie and Zachary Allred, and Megan Miller, Kathryn Hogg Stuart, and Lauren Hogg. Johnnie Pop loved and was proud of each and every one of his children and grandchildren! In 2004 Jocelyn wife and mother to his six children passed away suddenly.
In 2005 he reconnected with his High School sweetheart Rosalyn Bevis, they married in April of 2006. They lived together in Fort Pierce, Florida for 9 years. They enjoyed traveling to many destinations during their retirement and while at home they spent a lot of time at the American Legion Post # 40 where they made so many friends and wonderful memories.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Verna, his wife Jocelyn in 2004, his son Tommy in 2010 and the love of his life Rosalyn in 2015. He moved to North Carolina in 2016 and lived his remaining days at Liberty Commons in Sanford, NC. The family would like to give a special thank you to the entire staff at Liberty Commons Nursing Home and Liberty Hospice for the outstanding and compassionate care of “Mr. John” until his passing.
Johnnie and Rosalyn’s Cremains will be buried together at the South Florida National Cemetery at a later date. In Lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to parkinson.org/ or nvf.org/.
