Bo was born August 19, 1947 in Cass, Texas, to Ellis and Doris Solley. He worked for many years for David Hill Timber Co.; served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era; and was a member of Cass Baptist Church.

He was a hard worker and provided for his three children by himself.
