She was born April 7, 1931 to Lawrence and Virginia Aderholt in Wheeler, TX. She attended both Briscoe and Allison schools in Wheeler County while growing up.

In 1948, she married her sweetheart, Bobbie Joe (B.J.) Grayson who walked by her side for over 60 years. During that time, they lived in Sunray, Spearman, where they raised their family, Canadian, and Sayre, OK. Six years ago, Jonell moved to Oklahoma City to be nearer her children.

In OKC, she lived at Village on the Park, a retirement community, where she was very active and made many friends. Jonell had a lively personality and a quick wit, always ready to greet family and friends with a smile and a hug. Her greatest loves were family and Thunder basketball, watching all their games on television and was thrilled to be able to attend a few in person.

Jonell loved the annual Aderholt reunions and rarely missed one. She was a wonderful mother who attended football games, basketball games, and track meets when her son was in high school. In addition, she was an excellent seamstress and made most of her daughters’ clothes until they got into high school.

Somewhere along the way, she became a pie baker extraordinaire. She adored her four grandchildren, never forgetting a birthday or a holiday to send a card. Then came the great grandchildren who held a very special place in her heart and whose visits brought her great joy.

Mrs. Grayson is survived by daughters, Pamela Edwards (Denton) of Choctaw, OK, and Bobbie Sheets (Steve) of Round Rock, TX, grandchildren, Travis Sheets, Tony Edwards, Chuck Grayson, Abbey Charlow, and seven great grandchildren.
