Obituary for Jorge Velez Jorge Velez, aged 58 years, passed away suddenly Saturday morning May 12, 2018 at his home in Bridgeton. His death was sudden and unexpected. Born April 8, 1960 in Jayuya, Puerto Rico, he was the son of Basilisa Gutierrez and the late Santiago Velez, and the husband of the late Ruth A. Velazquez.

Jorge had been an area resident since he was 14 years old coming from Puerto Rico. Jorge was employed with Seabrook Bros. and Sons Food Processing in Upper Deerfield for 23 years as a Supervisor.

He loved his work and was dedicated; never missing a day or taking vacation. As a teen, he had also worked for Sunny Slope Farms for several years. He was a hard worker and also found time to enjoy fishing.

Surviving him is his mother, Basilisa Gutierrez, his companion Cordelia, his sisters: Nelida Rivera, Luz C. Velez, Isabel Velez and her companion Gilbert Rivera, brother Jaime Velez, and several other nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Saturday May 26, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. from the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Twp. The interment will be in Laurel Lawn Cemetery, Upper Deerfield Twp.
