Obituary of Jorge/George Arriaga Jorge/George Arriaga of Dayton died Sunday, July 1, 2018, at Glen Falls Hospital of Glen Falls, NY. He was 53 years of age. Jorge was born in Mexico City, Mexico on July 9, 1964 and came to the United States around the age of 8 to live with his family in Mission, Texas.

After graduating from the University of Texas – Pan American (UTPA) with a degree in Computer Science, Jorge moved to New Jersey to pursue opportunities as a software engineer at AT&T. Early in his career, while working at AT&T, he earned his Master of Science in Computer Science at Stevens Institute of Technology. In August, Jorge would have celebrated 30 years at AT&T.

Jorge known to his children as Padre was a loving husband and dad whose world was Justin and Jessica. Being from Texas, Jorge was a huge Dallas Cowboy fan, which is not easy in New York Giant territory. Jorge was actively involved in the SBPAL and Vikings lacrosse community.

He volunteered as a coach and assisted in keeping statistics for the South Brunswick High School team. When not on the lacrosse field, Jorge was a huge fan of music and arts. He loved to attend Justin and Jessica’s performances and competitions and was a great baritone player himself.

Besides lacrosse and music, Jorge loved woodworking. Jorge is survived by his wife, Carol Anne (Gordon) Arriaga and his two children, Justin and Jessica. He is also survived by his mothers, Consuelo Arriaga and Aurora Arriaga; his five sisters, Yolanda Arriaga, Leticia Saldana, Irma Chapa and her husband, Lee Chapa, Yaneth Arriaga and Lisa Garcia and her husband, Milo; his five brothers, Gustavo Arriaga and his wife, Elma, Javier Arriaga and his wife, Imelda, Jose Paredes and his wife, Sheila, Arturo Arriaga and Joseph Arriaga and his wife, Isabel; his sister-in-law, Maria Gordon Shydlo and husband Brian; his brothers-in-law, Jeffrey Gordon and his wife, Laura and Christopher Gordon and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father, Pedro Arriaga, and his brother, Pete Arriaga. Even though he was taken from his loving family much too soon, he will be forever in their hearts. Friends may call at the M.J. Murphy Funeral Home, 616 Ridge Road at New Road, Monmouth Junction, on Monday, July 9, 2018, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at St. Cecilia’s Church, 10 Kingston Lane, Monmouth Junction. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. In lieu of flowers, please donate to US Lacrosse, First Stick Program, the national governing body of the sport loved by Jorge and his family.
